Who this policy covers
B.O.S.S. Software is the developer of B.O.S.S. Lite. This policy applies to the current Android app, the iPhone and iPad release when it becomes available, and the public website at bossops.com.au.
Information handled by B.O.S.S. Lite
The current offline release stores the recipe and formula information you enter, optional recipe product photos, app settings and the print queue locally on your device. The Android build is the primary release authority; the iPhone and iPad build is required to preserve the same data boundary and product behaviour. The app does not request internet access and does not upload this app content to B.O.S.S. Software.
Adding a recipe photo is optional. If you choose to take a photo, the app opens your device's camera app. You can also select an existing image using your device's file picker. A resized copy is saved with the recipe on your device and can appear on recipe cards and printed formulas. You can remove or replace the recipe photo. Removing the copy in B.O.S.S. Lite does not delete an original image stored elsewhere on your device.
B.O.S.S. Lite does not include advertising, advertising identifiers, analytics tracking or location tracking.
Backups and files
If you create a B.O.S.S. Lite backup, the app encrypts it using the passphrase you choose and saves it to a location selected through your device. You control that file and any copies you make. The passphrase is not stored by B.O.S.S. Software and cannot be recovered by us.
Backups include recipe information and any recipe photos stored in the app. If you choose a cloud or other external provider in your device's file picker, that provider handles the saved file under its own terms. Printing or saving a formula as a PDF uses the device's print service and any destination you select. B.O.S.S. Software does not receive those files.
Website and support enquiries
This website does not add advertising trackers, analytics or user accounts. The hosting provider may process basic technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site.
If you email B.O.S.S. Software, we receive your email address and anything you include in the message. We use that information to answer your enquiry, provide support and keep any records reasonably needed to manage the request.
Sharing and overseas processing
B.O.S.S. Software does not sell personal information. Information from an email enquiry may be processed by the service providers used for email and website hosting. Those providers may process information outside Australia and operate under their own privacy and security terms.
Retention and deletion
App recipes, recipe photos and settings remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Backup files remain wherever you saved or copied them until you delete them. Support emails are kept only as long as reasonably needed to provide support and maintain appropriate business records.
Children
B.O.S.S. Lite is a work tool for bakeries and food makers. It is not directed to children under 13 and B.O.S.S. Software does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
